Raiders race past Thorobreds in exhibition tune-up

Three Raiders finished with double-digit scoring nights as the Wright State women's basketball team cruised to an 88-40 victory over Kentucky State in exhibition action inside the Nutter Center on Wednesday night.
Wright State now gets set to open the regular season on November 15 at home against Abilene Christian, followed by a visit from Cal State Bakersfield on November 19.
Senior Michal Miller and sophomore Anisja Harris each finished with a game-high 18 points on Wednesday, with sophomore Angel Baker tallying 16 points over her own. Senior Teneshia Dixon pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds and finished with eight points inside as junior Tyler Frierson added nine boards of her own.
As a team, the Raiders finished the night shooting 50 percent (36-for-72) from the floor while hitting eight three-point baskets. Wright State outrebounded the Division II Thorobreds 49-26 while forcing Kentucky State into 27 turnovers and holding the visitors to 26 percent shooting.
A one-point game after the opening 10 minutes of action, Wright State outscored Kentucky State 27-4 in the second quarter to take a 42-18 advantage into the halftime break, and followed that up with a 22-7 third quarter to pull away.
