@WSU_WBasketball Finishes Homestand Against IUPUI

On Saturday afternoon the Wright State women's basketball team will play host to the IUPUI Jaguars in the Nutter Center. The Raiders and Jaguars previously met this season in Indianapolis where the game was forced into overtime. With two seconds on the clock, Symone Simmons hit a two points shot to force extra time. Wright State came out on top with the final score standing at 70-67.
Saturday's game will be a showcase of Horizon League offenses with Wright State, first in the Horizon League, and IUPUI, third in the Horizon League.
Wright State
The Raiders (17-5, 9-1) are entering the game against the Jaguars fresh off of a win against the UIC Flame. Wright State combined a dominating offensive performance and a stifling defense to win 72-47 against UIC. Three Raiders scored in double-digits against the Flames. Symone Simmons led the Raiders with 15 points, Tyler Frierson tallied 12, and Emily Vogelpohl added 11 points. Symone Simmons led all player in rebounds with 15 and tied her season high.
Two Raiders are averaging double-digits on offense, Michal Miller (12.8ppg) and Mackenzie Taylor (12.3ppg) lead the team. Symone Simmons is leading the team in rebounds, collecting 9.0 each outing for the Raiders.
IUPUI
The Jaguars (13-8. 7-3) are coming off a 57-60 loss against Northern Kentucky on Thursday night. IUPUI had a chance to tie the game in the waning seconds, but the three-point shot by Holly Hoopingarner rung out of the basket. In Thursday night's game the Jaguars were led by Tamya Sims with 14 points and Hoopingarner and Macee Williams each added 11 points.
On the season, the Jaguars are led by the Horizon League's top offensive player in Macee Williams. Williams averages 18.1 points per game, 2.3 point average more than the player in the second place. Holly Hoopingarner is the other Jaguar averaging double-digits with 11.0 points per game. On defense, Macee Williams (4th in Horizon League) is hauling in 8.2 rebound per game.
