Raiders Host Oakland Tuesday Night
Wright State claimed the Horizon League regular-season title as the conference announced the bracket for the 2019 Little Caesars Horizon League Women's Basketball Championship on Saturday.
Wright State earned the No. 1 seed and its first outright regular season title in program history, ending the regular season with a 73-64 win at Oakland on Saturday afternoon to finish League play at 16-2, a school record for league wins.
Green Bay will be the No. 2 seed. The Phoenix earned a 77-53 victory over UIC on Saturday to improve to 15-3 in #HLWBB play.
Youngstown State (13-5) earned a 74-61 win over Cleveland State, to secure the No. 3 seed. IUPUI also finished 13-5, defeating Milwaukee, 76-55, and will be the No. 4 seed. YSU and IUPUI split their regular season matchups, so YSU's win over No. 1 seed Wright State earned the Penguins the No. 3 seed over the Jaguars.
Northern Kentucky (10-8) will be the No. 5 seed following an 81-63 win at Detroit Mercy on Saturday to close out the regular season. Milwaukee, also 10-8, is the No. 6 seed. NKU and Milwaukee split their two meetings this season, but NKU holds the tiebreaker for its win over IUPUI. Cleveland State (7-11) is the No. 7 seed and Oakland (3-16) is the No. 8 seed.
Tuesday begins quarterfinal action with No. 1 Wright State hosting No. 8 Oakland at 5:30 p.m. ET at the Nutter Center. Doors will open at 4:30. Tickets for the doubleheader are $10 for Premium seats (first 12 rows) and $5 for all other seat locations.
