@WSU_SB Takes Two at Morehead State

Wright State (10-12) won both games of a midweek doubleheader against Morehead State on Tuesday. The Raiders return to Dayton for the home opener on Wednesday in matchups against Bowling Green and Dayton.

Game 1

1st Inning
Wright State jumped out to a big lead thanks to a four-run inning. Rebekah Lenos, Brianna Hutchinson, Madison Nunez, and Macy McCall each delivered singles and put the Raiders up 2-0. Then, Madison Hartman doubled down the left field line and McCall scored in the midst of a rundown play.

3rd Inning
The Eagles put a run on the board in the second but were quickly answered by Wright State in the third. Madison Nunez and Macy McCall each drew free passes and came around to score thanks to a Lauren Deitrick single.

7th Inning
Makenna Durieux picked up her second win of the season in impressive fashion. Durieux worked through six innings allowing just one earned run in the outing. The Raider bats continued to provide run support in the seventh. Rebekah Lenos scooted to second on a two-base error and a Madison Nunez single put the seventh Wright State run. Lexie Hilling stepped into the circle and put the finishing touches on the Raider victory.

Game 2

1st Inning
The Raiders repeated their hot start offensively in the second game. Meredith Keel and Madison Nunez each recorded a base hit and ended up in scoring position. Brianna Hutchinson stepped up to the plate and hit a 2-RBI single. Morehead State touched up Olivia Otani for four runs in the bottom half. Otani rebounded well and eventually recorded her fifth win of the season thanks to a great offensive contribution by her teammates.

2nd Inning
Wright State matched the four runs posted by the Eagles with four runs of their own in the top of the second. Madison Hartman started the big inning with a double which was followed by another double by Macy McCall. A Morehead State error allowed McCall to score the tying run. The Raiders then took the lead when Meredith Keel and Madison Nunez added singles.

6th Inning
Maddux Hughes entered the game in the fourth and dominated in the circle for Wright State. Hughes tallied four innings of no-hit softball and kept the Raiders on top. Rebekah Lenos doubled to lead off the inning and scored her second run of the game on a Madison Whitaker sac fly.
