@WSU_SB Drops Series Opener in Extras

Wright State (20-30, 7-12 HL) fell just short against Cleveland State in eight innings. The Raiders struck for 10 hits, outhitting the Vikings, but left 11 runners stranded in the loss.
 
Scoring Summary
 
2nd Inning– Madison Whitaker began the inning with a single and Meredith Keel soon followed with a four-pitch walk. With two outs, Macy McCall singled down the right field line to score Whitaker and to give Wright State an early 1-0 lead until the Vikings answered in the bottom half of the inning.
 
4th Inning– Madison Nunez ripped the first pitch she saw over the left field fence to give the Raiders another one-run lead. 
 
The Vikings tied the game in the fifth and worked around two runners in scoring position in the eighth before walking off in the bottom of the inning. Makenna Durieux and Kelly Hysong both tossed complete games for their respective teams. Madison Nunez picked up three hits in the game along with her solo home run.
 
The Raiders and Vikings will wrap up the series on Saturday with a doubleheader beginning at 1:00 PM. Both games can be streamed on ESPN+.
