@WSU_SB Splits Doubleheader at Cleveland State

Wright State split a doubleheader on Saturday against Cleveland State, dropping the series after falling in 8 innings to the Vikings on Friday. Olivia Otani rolled through the Viking lineup in game one, posting an impressive two-hit complete game allowing just a single run and guiding the Raiders to a 5-1 victory. Cleveland State then wrapped up a series victory with a 4-2 win guided by another complete game from starter Kelly Hysong.
 
WSU is now 21-31, 8-13.

Game 1
 
5th Inning
Wright State finally broke the scoreless tie in the fifth. Lauren Deitrick singled and advanced to second on a passed ball. Rebekah Lenos then stepped into the box and delivered an RBI single to left. 
 
6th Inning
The Raiders used a big sixth inning to clinch their victory. Raidyn Johnson and Madison Hartman started up the offense with back-to-back singles. Madison Nunez recorded an RBI single and another single by Meredith Keel loaded the bases. Madison Mills came off the bench and followed with another single and after Macy McCall doubled to right, the Raiders held a 5-0 lead. The Vikings recorded their one and only run in the bottom half of the frame. Otani completed the win in a complete game in just 77 pitches.
 
Game 2
 
 Wright State outhit Cleveland State by seven but fell short after stranding 14 batters. Lauren Deitrick slugged a home run to center field. The Vikings plated all four of their runs on the long ball with a three-run homer in the second and a solo shot in the fourth. Trailing 4-1, Macy McCall cut the Viking lead to two with her third RBI of the day. Wright State left the tying run on second as Cleveland State recorded a flyout to close out the game.
 
Wright State returns home to face UIC in the final series of the regular season next weekend.
