@WSURaiderGang Downs Golden Flashes Tuesday Night

Kent, Ohio – After a crucial Horizon League sweep over the Northern Kentucky Norse over the weekend, the Raiders played their final non-conference game of the season Tuesday evening against the Golden Flashes of Kent State. The Raiders jumped out to an early advantage as they have done so many times thus far this season, and were able to add insurance runs late in the game to secure the victory 7-5.  WSU is now 38-15.

SCORING
1st Inning – Seth Gray would open the scoring for Wright State, as his one out sacrifice fly brought Damon Dues in to score the game's first run.
2nd Inning – Back-to-back RBI singles from JD Orr and Damon Dues increased the Raiders lead to three runs, as starter Sam Wirsing would allow just two earned runs in six innings pitched.
6th Inning – Tyler Black re-established a three run lead for Wright State, and two batters later an Alex Alders sacrifice fly gave the RaiderGang a 5-1 advantage headed to the seventh inning.
8th Inning – Kent State pulled within one run as the Raiders came to bat in the eighth, but they would get a crucial insurance run off an RBI single from Zane Harris, and would go on to win by a final score of 7-5.

The Raiders will round out the regular season schedule this weekend, as they will face the Oakland Golden Grizzlies. Originally scheduled to be played in Michigan, the series will now be played at Mercy Field in Toledo, Ohio, home of the Lourdes Gray Wolves out of the NAIA due to poor field conditions in Michigan. The series is set to begin Thursday afternoon, and due to the move in venue, the games will no longer be carried on ESPN+, but live stats are still available through the schedule page.
