Six Raiders Named to NABC Honors Court

The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced the members of the 2018-19 NABC Honors Court. This honor recognizes men's collegiate student-athletes who excelled in academics during the past season. The NABC shines a light on the talents that these men possess off the court for their hard work in the classroom.

Six Raiders were honored from last season's team: Cole Gentry, Adam Giles, Mark Hughes, Loudon Love, Alan Vest and Bill Wampler. Wright State led the Horizon League with the highest number of honorees. In total there were eleven Horizon League men's players honored.

Only three other Division I schools in the country had six student-athletes on the list: Bradley, Harvard and San Francisco. Eastern Washington led the country with seven.

"We are so proud of our student-athletes who were honored with this award," Head Coach Scott Nagy said. "The standard in our program has been set and our guys take pride in doing what is asked of them both on and off the court."

In order to be named to the Honors Court, a student-athlete must meet a high standard of academic criteria. The qualifications are as follows:
Wright State Men's Basketball was also recognized last week by the NABC for the second consecutive season with the Team Academic Excellence Award given to teams with an overall GPA north of 3.0.

In order to be named to the Honors Court, a student-athlete must meet a high standard of academic criteria. The qualifications are as follows:
- A junior or senior undergraduate and a varsity player.
- Cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2018-19 academic year.
- Students must have matriculated at least one year at their current institution.
- Member of a NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA Division I or II institution with a NABC member coach.
