
Raiders Finalize Non-conference Hoops Schedule

The Wright State men's basketball program has announced the upcoming 2019-20 non-conference slate.
This year's schedule features seven home games, three true road games and three neutral-site contests as part of the Gulf Case Showcase in Estero, FL Thanksgiving week.
"Our non-conference schedule will be competitive and entertaining for our fans," coach Scott Nagy said. "We will be challenged both at home and on the road. We also look forward to being a part of the Gulf Coast Showcase. This schedule will get us prepared for a tough Horizon League slate in January and February."
Central State (Nov. 5, Nutter Center) Wright State gets the season started against nearby Central State University.
Miami (OH) (Nov. 9, Oxford, OH) This in-state rivalry is renewed for the 34th time. The RedHawks completed their 2018-19 campaign with a 15-17 record, finishing 7-11 in the Mid-American Conference.
Tennessee Tech (Nov. 12, Cookeville, TN) The Golden Eagles out of the Ohio Valley Conference will be led by first-year head coach John Pelphrey, the former head coach of Arkansas and South Alabama.
Kent State (Nov. 16, Nutter Center) Kent State returns to the Nutter Center for the second time in three years. Last season the Golden Flashes went 11-2 in their non-conference games and finished 22-9 (11-7 MAC) with an invitation to the CIT Postseason Tournament.
Urbana (Nov. 20, Nutter Center) Led by first-year head coach Josh Gibson, the Blue Knights return to the Nutter Center for the first time since 2016.
Weber State (Nov. 25, Gulf Coast Showcase) The Raiders tip off against Weber State from the Big Sky Conference as part of the Gulf Coast Showcase, one of the premiere mid-major tournaments in the country. The field also includes two 2019 NCAA Tournament participants, Murray State (OVC) and Northeastern (Colonial Athletic Association). Western Kentucky (Dec. 3, Nutter Center) Wright State will look to avenge a loss during the 2017-18 season when the Hilltoppers make a visit to the Nutter Center. Western Kentucky is coming off a 20-14 campaign where they finished tied for second (11-7) in Conference USA.
Indiana State (Dec. 7, Nutter Center) The Sycamores out of the Missouri Valley Conference finished 15-16 (7-11 MVC) last season after starting the non-conference portion of their schedule at a clip of 8-4. This will be just the second meeting between the two bordering state schools.
Southern (Dec. 12, Nutter Center) Out of the Southwestern Athletic Conference, the Jaguars are led by former University of Kentucky standout player Sean Woods as their head coach.
Mississippi Valley State (Dec. 17, Nutter Center) The Delta Devils will complete the home non-conference schedule for the Raiders. Mississippi Valley State is led by first-year head coach and two-time NBA champion Lindsey Hunter.
Toledo (Dec. 21, Toledo, OH) For the fourth consecutive season the in-state schools will face off. Toledo will try and break a two-game losing streak as they host the Raiders to finish the non-conference slate. The Rockets finished last season 25-8 (13-5 MAC) and a berth in the NIT postseason tournament.
