
Raiders welcome Phoenix to Nutter Center Thursday

The Wright State women's basketball team looks to close out the month of January with another win as they welcome the Green Bay Phoenix to the Nutter Center Thursday evening. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Wright State outscored Oakland all four quarters of Saturday's contest but was able to hold off a determined Grizzlies team in the fourth quarter 22-21. 31 of the Raiders 85 points came from the bench while the Grizzlies had 39 bench points. 40 point came inside the paint for Wright State this afternoon while Oakland had 30.
Angel Baker and Tyler Frierson both recorded 16 points for the Raiders. Frierson recorded her second consecutive double-double and fourth of the season, pulling down a game leading 13 rebounds. Shamarre Hale added 15 points to the score line while Anisja Harris had 11, respectively.
With the victory, Wright State improved to 12-8 overall and 7-2 in Horizon League play while Oakland fell to 8-12 overall and 3-6 in conference play.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
- Kevin Borseth is in his 17th season at the helm of the Green Bay women's basketball program. He owns one of the best records in all of college basketball at 713-275. Borseth ranks 19th all-time among division I women's basketball coaches in total wins and 10th among active coaches as he prepares for the 2019-20 campaign.
- When Green Bay has reached 70 points or more this season, the Phoenix owns a 6-1 record. GB is also an impressive 7-2 on the year when out rebounding its opponent. The team also owns a 9-2 record when posting a better percentage from the floor than its opposition.
- Green Bay opened its 2019-20 on the road against Central Michigan where they were handed the Chippewas a 111-105 double-overtime loss. Their schedule also includes contests against three nationally ranked opponents, including an overtime victory over No. 18/16 Syracuse. Â Green Bay is currently 11-10 overall and 6-3 in conference play as they most recently defeated Cleveland State on the road, 74-54.
