Men's Basketball hits the road for first time in 20-21

The Wright State men's basketball team hits the road for the first time in the 2020-21 season on Sunday when the Raiders make the trip up I-75 for an afternoon contest at Bowling Green. Tipoff is scheduled for 12 p.m.

Fans can follow the action for both games in a pair of ways – by tuning in to WRZX 106.5 FM with Chris Collins and Jim Brown bringing Raider fans the play-by-play on the radio, or by tuning in on either ESPN3 or ESPN+ - the specific platform has yet to be announced for Sunday's contest.

The Raiders are 1-1 on the young season, dropping the opener to Marshall before a 24-point win over Miami (OH) last Saturday. Trey Calvin is leading the team in scoring after a pair of 16-point games, while Tim Finke and Grant Basile are each averaging 11.5 points per game. Loudon Love is averaging 11 points and 11.5 rebounds through two games, and now has 904 career rebounds, three shy of surpassing Bill Edwards' program record of 907 boards.

Bowling Green has won its last four contests, including an 86-78 win over Buffalo in its MAC opener last Sunday. After opening the season with a 14-point loss at Michigan, the Falcons have home wins over South Carolina State, Purdue-Northwest (Division II) and Buffalo, along with an overtime road victory at Appalachian State on Nov. 30.

Sunday will be the 16th meeting in program history between Wright State and Bowling Green, with the Raiders having won seven of the previous 15 matchups, including two of the last three. The teams recently met in four consecutive seasons from 2012-2016, with each side winning both of its home games, and first squared off in December 1980. Bowling Green finished the 2019-20 season with a 21-10 overall record and a 12-6 mark in MAC play.
