Emani Jefferson named Horizon League Freshman of the Week

Wright State women's basketball freshman Emani Jefferson has been named the Horizon League's Freshman of the Week, the league announced Monday Afternoon.

Jefferson tallied five points against Detroit Mercy on Saturday, pulling down six rebounds and tallying an assist. She finished the contest going a perfect 3-for-3 from the free throw line and 1-for-1 from the field in just 11 minutes of play.

Sunday's contest would be much of the same for Jefferson, as she scored seven points and pulled down five rebounds. The North Port, FL native finished the contest 2-for-4 from the field and 3-for-5 from the line while also tallying one assist, one block and a steal.

The Raiders are 2-2 on the season and 2-0 in Horizon League action. Wright State will welcome Oakland to the Nutter Center for the second weekend of Horizon League play. The Raiders and Golden Grizzles tipoff at 2 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.
