
Wright State celebrates Senior Day, #Play4Kay Saturday

The Wright State women's basketball will host UIC on Saturday afternoon inside the Nutter Center. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. and will be Senior Day along with the program's #Play4Kay game to raise awareness for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.

Wright State is 14-11 overall and 9-5 in Horizon League play coming into Saturday's matchup, while UIC is 3-22 overall and 2-12 in HL play.
The Raiders are coming off a 62-58 loss inside the Nutter Center Thursday evening. After leading the Jaguars by four at the end of the first quarter, IUPUI would go on to outscore the Raiders 17-8 in the second quarter and headed into the locker up 36-31. Wright State fought back to pull within two at the end of the third but IUPUI would ultimately pull away and outscore Wright State 15-13 in the fourth quarter.
Angel Baker led the scoring efforts for the Raiders as her 22 points were a game-high. Baker finished the contest shooting 11-23 from the field and tallied two assists. Michal Miller added 11 points for the hosts and finished the night 5-12 from the field, 1-4 from three point range and pulled down five rebounds. Anisja Harris tallied seven points against the Jaguars and Tyler Frierson added six of her own and pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds for Wright State.
As a team, Wright State leads the Horizon League in total rebounds (1,073) and offensive rebounds per game (16.8) marks that rank the Raiders 4th most in the NCAA in both categories, respectively.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
- Tasha Pointer is in her second season at the helm of the IUPUI women's basketball program. Pointer spent the 2017-18 season as an assistant coach at Northwestern, following a two-year stint at St. John's. Prior to her time in Queens, Pointer was on the legendary C. Vivian Stringer's staff at Rutgers for eight years.
- Jada Nneji, the 2018-19 Horizon League All-Defensive Team honoree is averaging 2.2 blocks per game this season to lead the Horizon League. Nneji is the lone Flame to average in double figures, scoring an average of 10.7 points per game to rank 14th in the Horizon League. She owns 11 double-digit scoring performances so far this season.
- Tiana Jackson has had an impressive freshman season for the Flames, averaging 7.6 points per game. Jackson owns the second-most assists on the squad with 45, giving her an average of 2.5 per contest, which ranks 11th in the Horizon League. The freshman is third on the team in shooting, making 36.7 percent of her shots overall.
