In My Own Words: Bryce Haney
4/14/2020 3:00:00 PM | Men's Golf, SAAC
As we move forward through this current period of uncertainty, Wright State Athletics has continued to live our P.S.A. model and transform the lives of our student-athletes: First, as People; Second, as Students; and Third, as Athletes. With those principles in mind, we have opened the floor to our student-athletes, and our Raiders have written first-hand accounts of how their daily lives have changed in this new series "In My Own Words."
Â
Our first letter is from Bryce Haney, a junior on the Wright State golf team and the 2019-20 president of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).

When I first heard of COVID-19, I didn't really know what to think or what to expect. I surely did not think the remainder of sports seasons would be canceled. It's been hard to find things to do to keep myself busy. Unlike most athletes at Wright State, I live at home, so I didn't have the burden of moving things around and figuring out whether or not I was going to stay on campus or go home. Classes being totally remote is pretty nice because I can do things at my own pace, but I've actually found myself wishing I had a class to attend just for a reason to leave home!
Â
I've been playing a ton of golf. Thankfully, golf is something that the Ohio Department of Health is allowing people to continue to do. I've also been going for walks, runs and bike rides, and I have even gone fishing a couple of times. Other than playing golf and doing a few other things outdoors I've been trying to stay disciplined with all of my classes by continuing to work ahead, stay in touch with professors, and check Pilot daily.Â
Â
I'm hopeful that everyone is healthy and staying safe during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Remember, tough times don't last, tough people do!
Â
Sincerely,
Bryce Haney
