Merriweather adds transfer Wright

Wright State women's basketball coach Katrina Merriweather has announced the addition of transfer Jada Wright to the Raider program.

A 6-foot-3 post player out of Chicago, Wright comes to the Raiders from West Virginia, where she appeared in one game in 2019-20 as a redshirt sophomore. Prior to that, Wright played at Trinity Valley Community College, where she developed into one of the top junior college centers and the No. 9-ranked overall junior college player before an injury sidelined her for the 2018-19 season.
"We are thrilled to add Jada's versatility to our roster," Merriweather said. "Signing Jada is an example of the importance of building and maintaining relationships. We are excited to have such a high caliber player join our family."

Wright prepped at Rich East High School in Chicago, where she was rated a four-star recruit by ESPN, coming in at No. 11 in her position and No. 84 overall for the class of 2017. Wright was nominated to the 2017 McDonald's All-America team during her senior season.
