Fans may notice that the Raiders and Colonials are set to face off for the second weekend in a row. This weekend's slate of games is the originally scheduled matchup. Last week's schedule change was due to COVID-19 protocols within the IUPUI program.
Wright State's sweep of Robert Morris on January 15 and 16, stretched its Horizon League winning streak to seven. On Friday, Wright State was first on the board by way of a Jada Roberson jumper but Robert Morris answered shortly after, to tie the contest at 2-all. The second quarter was a back-and-forth battle, seeing the Colonials fight and the Raiders head into the locker up just one at halftime, 26-25. Ultimately, the Raiders pulled away and defeated the Colonial 58-48.
Saturday saw Robert Morris score first after three-plus minutes of scoreless action. Shamaree Hale tallied the Raiders first points of the contest, followed by an Angel Baker's lay-up leading the Raiders into a 12-0 run over a four-minute period to end the first quarter. The Colonials went on to outscore Wright State 12-10 overall, including a 6-0 run over a 31 second period, to end the quarter tied 37-all. Wright State tallied the first points of the fourth quarter, giving them the momentum they needed for the remainder of the contest as they walked away 58-51 victors.
