Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Raiders stun Cleveland State behind four second half goals, Allbaugh's hat trick

DAYTON – The Wright State men's soccer team scored four second half goals, including the game winner in the 89th minute, to stun visiting Cleveland State as the Raiders tallied a 4-3 win at Alumni Field Saturday night.

Wright State (5-9-1, 4-4-1) scored a pair of goals early in the second half to knot the score at two all, only to see Cleveland State (9-7-0, 8-2-0 HL) regain the lead with a 75th minute score. The Raider offensive push never diminished, first tying the game at 3-all on Brayden McNitt's goal in the 87th minute before Reece Allbaugh completed his second half hat trick with the game-winner in the 89th minute.

Cleveland State's Bojan Kolevski tallied a pair of first half goals to give the visitors the early lead, tallying scores in the eighth and 19th minutes. The game remained at 2-0 Vikings through the half before the Raiders got on the board via Allbaugh's first goal of the night in the 55th minute. Allbaugh then tied the game in the 67th off a feed from Joe Kouadio, only to see Cleveland State's Pablo Kawecki clean up a deflected ball in the 75th minute as the visitors regained the advantage.

The wild finish started when Brayden McNitt pounded the ball into the back of the net through congestion all around the net in the 87th minute before Allbaugh's game-winner in the 89th minute after a perfect pass off a quick Raider restart after a Cleveland State foul.

Cleveland State ended the night with a 15-12 shot advantage, including 12 in the second half, but the Raiders made the most of their opportunities with six of their shots on frame finding the back of the net. Allbaugh's five shots led all players, while McNitt and Sandro Branquinho each added two attempts. Sebastian Jimenez finished with five saves for the Raiders, including four in the second half as Wright State made its comeback.

Wright State now goes on the road to end the regular season with a visit to take on Detroit Mercy on Wednesday afternoon. Wednesday's match is slated for a 2 p.m. start and is expected to be streamed on ESPN+.
