ROCHESTER, MI – The Wright State volleyball team won its fifth straight match on Friday night with a four-set victory on the road against Oakland on Friday night in the penultimate match of the regular season.
After dropping a tight opening set 28-26, Wright State (21-7, 13-3 HL) won the final three sets of the night 25-15, 25-23 and 25-10 to leave town with the victory.
The Raiders now close the regular season schedule on Saturday afternoon at Cleveland State in a 4 p.m. start.
Nyssa Baker ended the night with a match-high 19 kills, while
Sam Ott added 14 kills of her own.
Callie Martin turned in a double-double effort with 12 kills and 16 digs. The Raiders finished with five service aces – one each from five different players – while Baker led the way with seven blocks, also a match-high.
Lainey Stephenson added five blocks of her own while passing out 45 of Wright State's 53 total assists and leading the Raiders with 22 digs.
Jenna Story added 21 digs of her own as the Raider defense recorded 93 total digs as a group.
