
Women's Basketball opens Horizon play on the road with a pair this weekend

DAYTON - The Wright State women's basketball team continues its four-game road trip with a pair of contests this weekend, as the Raiders open Horizon League play with a pair of games in Wisconsin. Wright State tips off the League slate at Milwaukee Thursday night before a Saturday afternoon visit to Green Bay. Thursday is an 8 p.m. ET start, while Sunday tips at 2 p.m. ET. Fans can follow the action for both games via live stats or watch on ESPN+.
Looking ahead, Wright State will take the floor at the Nutter Center for the first time this season on November 24 against Xavier.

Wright State's Destyne Jackson turned in her second-straight double-digit scoring game to open the season, finishing with a team-high 15 points on 6-of-13 shooting overall as she tallied 10 points over the first 20 minutes. Three Raiders each finished the afternoon with eight points, as Constance Chaplin added nine rebounds to her scoring, Jada Roberson added three rebounds and a pair of steals to her final stat line and KK White chipped in five rebounds of her own. Diamond Stokes and Jada Wright each finished with six points inside for Wright State, with Stokes pulling down a game-high 12 rebounds off the bench. Deesh Beck rounded out the Raider scoring, tallying five points.
LEAPING BACK INTO THE LEAGUE
The 2021-22 season is not head coach Kari Hoffman's first experience with the Horizon League, as the first year Raider leader began her coaching career as the director of basketball operations at Green Bay in the 2008-09 and 2009-10 seasons. The Phoenix qualified for the NCAA Tournament both years.
MILWAUKEE MINUTE
Milwaukee is 0-3 on the young season, losing a pair of games on the road to Ball State (in overtime) and at No. 16 Florida State. The Panthers lost their home opener last Thursday to North Dakota State, 69-58. Under head coach Kyle Rechlicz, the Panthers are 5-4 in Horizon League openers, including two straight victories. Last year, Milwaukee opened on the road and took down Green Bay 61-58. In 2019-20, the Panthers welcomed Wright State to the Klotsche Center and handed the Raiders a 60-58 loss.

THe Phoenix take on Northern Kentucky Thursday night before meeting Wright State on Saturday afternoon. Head coach Kari Hoffman, a Wisconsin native, didn't have to wait long to play in her home state. Hoffman, a Florence, Wisconsin native, will get a taste of home this weekend at Milwaukee and Green Bay. Aside from her stint as the Director of Basketball Operations at Green Bay (2008-10) Hoffman has never coached a game inside her home state. The last game action Hoffman was a part of inside the Badger State was as a senior guard for Cedarville during the 2004-05 season, as they traveled to play a pair of contests in the Cardinal Stritch Invitational December 3 and 4, 2004 in Milwaukee.
