NAPLES, FL - The Wright State men's basketball team looks to wrap up its trip to Florida with a high note on Wednesday afternoon as the Raiders close out their Naples Invitational slate with a matchup against Long Beach State. The Raiders are coming off a Tuesday two-point defeat to James Madison, while Long Beach State has had a pair of lopsided games against Missouri State and Murray State this week.
Fans can follow the action in Florida several ways - via live stats, by watching on Flo Hoops or by tuning in on WZDA 103.9 FM, the new home of Raider Basketball on the radio. Chris Collins and Jim Brown will have all the play-by-play on the radio.

LAST TIME OUT
A quick start and a chance to win it at the end did not go in favor of Wright State on Tuesday afternoon, as the Raiders fell to James Madison 78-76 in the middle game of the Naples Invitational. Tanner Holden finished with a game-high 25 points, matching his season-high, on 10-of-13 shooting, while he added four rebounds and four assists. Grant Basile added 19 points and six rebounds, while Tim Finke was the third Raider in double figures with his 13 points. AJ Braun just missed out on his first double-digit scoring game, finishing with nine points in 16 minutes.
IT'S BEEN A LONG TIME. . . ACTUALLY FOREVER
Wright State will face a first-time opponent for the fourth straight contest, and fifth time in six games this season, as the Raiders take on Long Beach State Wednesday afternoon. Wright State has already had "first" matchups this season against George Washington, James Madison and Purdue. The Raiders also have a first-time meeting with North Carolina State down the road on December 21.Â
A WIN WOULD. . .
A Wednesday win would wrap the trip up with a high note and also snap Wright State's longest losing streak under head coach Scott Nagy. Prior to this four-game streak, the Raiders had lost three straight games on three different occasions (Nov./Dec. 2016, Nov. 2017, Dec. 2018).
LIFE AT THE BEACH
After winning its season-opener on the road in overtime, Long Beach State has lost its last four games by an average margin of 22.5 points, including 92-66 and 80-43 losses the last two days. Joel Murray led the way for Long Beach State with 14 points on Tuesday against Murray State, while Joe Hampton finished with 15 points and Jadon Jones added 12 on Monday against Missouri State. Long Beach State has nine returning lettermen this season and in the preseason was tabbed eighth by the coaches and seventh by the media in the Big West preseason poll.
IT'S BEEN A LONG WEEK. . .
Wright State and Long Beach State both enter Wednesday on four-game losing streaks, but there's not much argument on who's had the longer week. Long Beach State, who played in two overtime games in its first three contests, made a nearly 2,700-mile trip coast-to-coast to Naples this week and proceeded to score 25 first half points on Monday against Missouri State and 16 first half points on Tuesday against Murray State. Long Beach will have a little time to recuperate as it makes the long trip back west, with its next contest not until next Tuesday at San Diego State.
