DAYTON — Kacee Baumhower will join the Wright State women's basketball program, starting in the spring semester, head coach Kari Hoffman announced Tuesday. She will not be eligible to compete for the remainder of the 2021-22 season due to NCAA transfer terms.
"We are excited that Kacee chose Wright State to continue her education," Hoffman said. "She will have a great career here, and we are ecstatic to have her join us."
The 5-foot-9 guard from Sylvania, Ohio, spent the fall with the St. Bonaventure women's basketball team. Baumhower appeared in five games with the Bonnies, scoring her first collegiate points against Canisius (11/17/21). She added one or more rebounds in four contests.
Previously, Baumhower was a four-year starter and three-year team captain at Sylvania Northview High School, finishing her career with school-record marks in points and assists. She was a three-time Division I All-Ohio selection along with All-Northwest District Co-Player of the Year in 2021. She averaged 18.7 points per game as a senior, helping her team to a 20-4 record and a district championship. Academically, she was on the Honor Roll all four years.
