The Wright State women's basketball team completed its weekend sweep of Milwaukee on Saturday afternoon, downing the Panthers 56-49 inside the Nutter Center.
Wright State improves to 13-5 overall and 13-3 in conference play, while Milwaukee falls to 15-5 overall and 12-4 in HL action.
Wright State struck first as 
Jada Wright's layup just 30 seconds into the contest gave the Raiders a 2-0 lead before Milwaukee answered by way of a Megan Walstad layup. The remainder of the contest was a back-and-forth affair. Milwaukee's Emma Wittmershaus three-pointer with 1:15 left in the first quarter tied the contest at 10-all. The second quarter saw nearly two minutes of scoreless action from both sides, before 
Tyler Frierson's free throw gave Wright State a 19-18 advantage. Milwaukee's 8-5 run over the final four minutes of the half gave the Panthers a 26-23 advantage heading into halftime.
The third quarter proved to be the difference maker as Wright State held Milwaukee to just eight points over the 10 minute period. The Raiders continued that momentum into the final 10 minutes, going on a 14-0 run in just over eight minutes. Milwaukee looked to answer in the final five minutes, going on a 10-5 run over Wright State but fell short as the Raiders tallied 16 total points to the Panthers 15 in the fourth quarter.
Angel Baker recorded her second highest scoring night in a Raiders uniform turning in 28 points, for her fourth consecutive 20-plus point outing this season. While 
Jada Wright, 
Jada Roberson and 
Tyler Frierson each added six points.
Baker finished the afternoon shooting 11-for-18 from the field, 1-for-2 from beyond the arc and 5-for-8 from the line while also pulling down three rebounds and providing two assists. Wright pulled down a team-leading and season-high eight rebounds, while also going 3-for-5 from the field. Roberson tallied two steals for the Raiders while also finishing the contest 3-for-9 from the floor. Frierson added four rebounds for Wright State as well as a team-high three blocks against Milwaukee.
Wright State held Milwaukee to just 26.3 percent shooting for the contest, while the Raiders tallied a 40.0 percent day from the floor. In the paint, the Raiders found another advantage, outscoring Milwaukee 26-20. Wright State tallied 14 second chance points and allowed just 11 from Milwaukee.
Wright State won the battle on the boards for the 17th consecutive contest, out rebounding Milwaukee 44-39 overall. On the defensive side of things, Wright State pull down 32, while the Panthers tallied 27. Both teams pulled down 12 offensive rebounds.
