Men's Soccer faces IUPUI Thursday

The Wright State men's soccer team returns to the road for a Wednesday afternoon matchup against IUPUI. Kickoff is set for 2:00 p.m. ET from Indianapolis.

LAST TIME OUT
Wright State – The Raiders are coming off a 2-2 double-overtime draw with preseason favorites Oakland behind a pair of goals from Lars van der Vlugt and Alex Hummel. Wright State looked to attack early as the Raiders tallied 10 shots in the first half to Oakland's one. Lars van der Vlugt tallied his first goal in a Raider uniform in the 61st minute as he connected on a pass from Manthey to give the Raiders a 1-0 lead, just nine minutes later Oakland answered in the 71st minute. Prior to the Golden Grizzles' goal, Harvey Slade was awarded a red card and the Raiders played with 10 men the remainder of the contest. The final twenty minutes of regulation would see two goals scored less than two minutes apart. The Golden Grizzles struck first giving the visitors a 2-0 lead in the 76th minute. In traffic, Alex Hummel headed in his second goal of the season in the 78th minute.
IUPUI - The Jaguars dropped a 2-1 decision on the road at Detroit Mercy on Friday, March 12. IUPUI tallied the first goal of the contest, as Anthony Saporito gave the Jaguars a 1-0 lead on the road in the 31st minute. Detroit Mercy found the equalizer in the 62nd minute before recording the game-winner in the 66th minute. The Titans outshot the Jaguars 18-7 and earned nine corner kicks while limiting to hosts to just five.

SCOUTING THE JAGUARS
- IUPUI was picked to finish ninth (38 points) in the Horizon League Preseason poll after finishing the 2019 season 4-10-3 overall (2-5-1 HL). The Jaguars enter Thursday's contest with a 0-4 record so far this season.
- The Jaguars return the core of its defense from a season ago in seniors Tommy Patacca and Gianni Catenacci and juniors Corey Goede and Ethan Diedel. In addition, sophomore Caleb Hussain made 13 starts in the defensive third last year as a true freshman.
- In goal, junior Quinn McCallion is a two-year starter and notched a 1.84 goals-against average and two shutouts last season. He's made 34 career starts and snared 179 saves in goal.
