
Men's Soccer set for final home contest of spring 2021 season

The Wright State men's soccer team returns to Alumni Field as they welcome Green Bay for the final home match of the 2021 spring season. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
Wright State – The Raiders are coming off a 2-0 victory on the road against IUPUI on Thursday. Zion Beaton tallied the only goal of the first half in the 19th minute when he headed in a pass from Presten Manthey to give Wright State a 1-0 lead over the hosts. Three minutes into the second half Reece Allbaugh tallied his first career goal as he connected on a pass from Brayden McNitt in the 48th minute to give the Raiders a 2-0 advantage.
Green Bay – The Phoenix's contest against Detroit Mercy scheduled for Thursday, March 18, was canceled due to a positive COVID-19 test within the Titans program. Prior to that, Green Bay fell to Northern Kentucky in double-overtime 3-2 on March 12. Lorenzo Battagliarin beat the keeper high-center to jump out to a 1-0 lead. Northern Kentucky answered with back-to-back goals in the 37th and 41st minute to secure a lead as halftime arrived. The game-tying goal was provided by Paul Mues in the 64th minute after Ezau Millan set up the score and allowed Mues to fire the ball low and away. The Norse scored the game-winning heartbreaker in the 106th minute after NKU's Ryan Godding went high right and past the sure hands of Jamison Yoder.

- Green Bay was picked to finish seventh (68 points) in the Horizon League Preseason poll after finishing the 2019 season 6-7-2 overall, 4-4-0 in Horizon League play before falling to Wright State 1-0 in the Horizon League Championships Quarterfinals.
- Ben Hughes leads the goal-scoring efforts for Green Bay as the sophomore has tallied two goals in five contests for the Phoenix, while Bernand Rhule has a team-leading five points, scoring one goal and providing three helpers so far this season.
- In goal, Jamison Yoder has recorded 17 saves (.708) while allowing seven goals (1.25 GAA) in 504 minutes of action.
