Golf heads to Kentucky to compete in The Jewell

The Wright State golf team won't have to travel far to tee it up, as the Raiders are set to play in The Jewell, hosted by Northern Kentucky, on Monday and Tuesday in Union, Kentucky.

The Raiders are coming off of their best team finish of the year with their second place showing at the Seahawk Intercollegiate down in North Carolina back on March 15 and 16. Wright State was one of two teams to finish the three-round event under par. Mikkel Mathiesen finished his tournament tied for 11th at one-under overall to pace the Raiders individually.

The Jewell field will feature Wright State, along with IUPUI, Kentucky Wesleyan, Thomas More and host Northern Kentucky, who will have two sets of five-man lineups. The Jewell tournament is in its sixth year and is played at Lassing Pointe Golf Course, a par-71, 6,724-yard course.

Tee times begin at 9:30 a.m., with the Raiders set to go off at 9:50 a.m.

This week's tournament is the fourth of six scheduled tournaments for the Raiders ahead of the Horizon League Championship at the end of April.
