DAYTON- Wright State head men's golf coach Conner Lash has announced the signing of transfer Max Clarke in advance of the 2026-27 season.
Clarke will come to the three-time defending Horizon League Champions from Abilene Christian where he redshirted for the Wildcats.
Clarke came stateside from Auckland, New Zealand where he prepped at Sacred Heart College. It was there where Clarke established himself as one of the country's top amateur golfers.
He captured the 2024 Auckland U19 Stroke Play Championship and reached the semifinals of the 2024 New Zealand Men's Amateur Championship, one of the top amateur events in the country. Clarke finished 11th in New Zealand Open qualifying, reaching the final round and second amongst all amateurs. He also placed fifth at the 2024 Auckland Secondary Schools Championship as well as the 2025 North Shore Classic.
The redshirt freshman joins the Raiders in their pursuit of a fourth-straight Horizon League crown. The Wright State fall schedule begins in late August at the Virtues Intercollegiate, co-hosted by Miami (OH) and Bowling Green.
