Halsey named to Horizon League All-Academic Team

The Horizon League released its 2021 Indoor Track & Field All-Academic Teams on Thursday, recognizing student-athletes for their success both in competition and in the classroom. Junior Abigail Halsey was among the 16 female student-athletes who were honored in balloting by the League's faulty athletics representatives.

A Sports Science major, Halsey is inside the top 10 all-time in the Wright State Indoor record book in the Mile, 3000 meters and 5000 meters, including a time of 10:22 in the 3000 meters on Feb. 12 at the Mastodon Invitational, moving to eighth all-time in that program category. She is also inside the top 10 all-time in the Outdoor record book in the 3000 meter steeplechase and 5000 meters.

The Tipp City native has appeared on five consecutive Horizon League Academic Honor Rolls, dating back to the 2018 Fall listing and was also a part of the Wright State Track & Field roster that was named a 2017-2018 All-Academic Team by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

The Wright State track and field team finished eighth overall in the conference after its performance at the 2021 Horizon League Championships in March.
