ROCHESTER, MI — The Wright State track and field programs kept the podium finishes coming on Sunday in the final day of action at the 2026 Horizon League Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
Â
The Raider men finished seventh overall for the championship, with the Wright State women finishing eighth overall for the weekend.
Â
Sunday saw a pair of first-place finishes for the Raiders, with Thomas Cook winning the men's high jump with a new personal-best 2.11m clearance, a mark that becomes the 72nd-best in the NCAA this spring. Hannah Falknor raced to a win in the women's 100m dash with a 11.76 second mark, before she followed that up less than an hour later with a second-place finish in the women's 200m at 24.57 seconds – five-tenths of a second off of the winning time and a pair of titles.
Â
Jude Elkins successfully maneuvered a tight time turnaround of his own for a pair of quality finishes. He first grabbed second in the men's 110m hurdles with a new personal-best time of 14.41 seconds, just 0.27 seconds off the top time in a photo finish, before following that up approximately 30 minutes later with a fifth-place showing in the men's 100m dash and a 10.97 second time.
Â
Behind Cook's win in the men's high jump, the Raiders continued to be well represented down the final leaderboard, with teammates Aboubacar Soumahoro finishing third (2.04m clearance) and Nathan Bright (2.01m) coming in fourth. Jahi McDonald (10th, 1.93m) and Landon Monnin (12th, 1.83m) also competed in the event for Wright State. Soumahoro added a sixth-place finish to his day with his 14.23m mark in the men's triple jump.
Â
Mia Wyngarden grabbed a sixth-place finish in the women's 800m with her 2:15.26 mark, and Kaitlyn Goecke followed up her third-place showing in Friday night's women's 10,000m run with an eighth-place finish (17:22.83) on Sunday in the women's 5,000m run.
