Raiders add to podium tally, have multiple qualifiers in Saturday HLTF action

ROCHESTER, MI — The Wright State track and field programs continued to tally podium finishes on Saturday's second day of the 2026 Horizon League Outdoor Track & Field Championships, grabbing a trio of fourth-place finishes by Jahi McDonald in the long jump, Greyson Pollock in the decathlon and Ava Bosticco in the heptathlon.

Sunday's final day of action will feature all finals across the schedule, set to begin with field action at 9 a.m. before the first races get underway at noon on the track.

McDonald turned in a 6.88m mark in the men's high jump, the Raiders' best field event showing of the weekend so far, while Bosticco and Pollock continued their strong Friday showings into Saturday's final events in the heptathlon and decathlon.

Bosticco grabbed a second-place finish in the heptathlon javelin throw at 30.08m and added a fifth-place mark in the heptathlon long jump with her 5.12m mark before capping the event with a 10th-place finish and a 2:47.82 time in the heptathlon 800m race to finish fourth overall. The Wright State women were well-represented in the event, with teammates Izabella Bell (sixth), Katlyn Delgado-Heaberlin (eighth) and Olivia Cercone (10th) all finishing in the Top 10.

Pollock turned in high finishes across the board in Saturday's five remaining decathlon events, grabbing first in the decathlon javelin throw with his 50.86m distance while also finishing fourth in the discus throw (34.47m mark) and fifth in the 1,500m run (5:10.44) and adding a sixth-place finish in the pole vault (3.60m clearance) and eight-place time in the 110m hurdles (17.86 seconds).

The Raiders had three Top 10 finishers across the men's and women's 3,000m steeplechase, paced by Ethan Beblock's seventh-place showing (9:21.83) in the men's race, while Kayla Compton (ninth, 11:60.60) and Samantha Seas (10th, 11:58.56) paced Wright State in the women's race.

Wright State had three Raiders qualify for five Sunday finals during Saturday's prelims, with Mia Wyngarden grabbing the third-best mark at 2:14.70 in the women's 800m trials. Jude Elkins and Hannah Falknor each qualified for two Sunday finals, with Elkins tallying a personal-best 14.38 second mark in the men's 110m hurdle prelims while finishing second before following that with the fifth-best mark (10.86) a little while later in the men's 100m. Falknor turned in the third-best mark ini the women's 100m trials (12.39) before circling back with a 12.25 time in the 200m prelims later Saturday afternoon.
