DAYTON – The Wright State volleyball team mad quick work of its opener in the 2021 Flyer-Raider Invitational Friday afternoon, defeating Central Michigan in three sets.
The Raiders (5-2) now prepare for their second match of the day, as they travel across town to take on Dayton inside the Frericks Center at 7 p.m. Friday night. Fans can follow Friday night's match via live stats or on ESPN+.
Friday morning, the Raiders were dominant, holding Central Michigan (4-3) to a negative team hitting percentage for the match overall at -0.020 after set percentages of -0.067 and -0.026 in the first two sets and a 0.015 mark by the Chippewas in the final set.
Wright State finished with 30 kills as a team, paced by
Grace Hauck's match-high nine kills, as the Raiders saw eight different players record at least one kill. Hauck,
Lainey Stephenson and
Nyssa Baker all tallied five blocks in the win, while Stephenson passed out 26 of Wright State's 28 total kills.
Jenna Story (24) and
Callie Martin (13) both finished with double-digit dig totals.
