DAYTON – The Wright State volleyball team took down Marshall in four sets in its first of two matches on Saturday at the 2021 Tru by Hilton Dayton Beavercreek Invitational. The Raiders dropped the opening set, 26-24, before three straight set wins by scores of 25-22, 25-18 and 25-14.
The Raiders (3-2) wrap up the weekend later Saturday night with a meeting against DePaul (3-2), who defeated Marshall on Friday afternoon and fell against Ball State earlier Saturday.

Celia Powers and
Lainey Stephenson both reached a pair of milestones in the win, with Powers recording her 1,000th block and Stephenson tallying her 1,000th dig. Both milestones came early in the second set.
For the second time in as many weeks,
Megan Alders reset her career high in kills, finishing with 23 kills against Marshall after tallying 22 last Saturday night in the win over Michigan State. Powers also finished in double-digits with 13 kills of her own, while
Teddie Sauer collected nine kills in her first action of the season.
Stephenson passed out 47 of Wright State's 57 assists, while Sauer and
Nyssa Baker each had three blocks up front. Four Raiders tallied double digit digs, paced by
Jenna Story's 26, while Stephenson had 15, Powers collected 14 and
Callie Martin added 13 of her own.
