DAYTON — The Wright State women's basketball team continues Horizon League play at home against a pair of Wisconsin programs. The Raiders welcome Green Bay for a 6 p.m. meeting on Thursday, January 27, before hosting Milwaukee on Saturday, January 29, at 2 p.m. Both games will televise on ESPN+.

LAST TIME OUT
Last weekend, Wright State dropped two games to Northern Kentucky in a home-and-home series. The Raiders trailed NKU 52-49 with 2:51 remaining in the third quarter of the series opener, but the Norse halted the late charge by closing the period on a 7-2 run and proceeding to outscore WSU 18-8 in the fourth quarter en route to a 77-59 victory. Despite facing a 55-40 third-quarter deficit to the Norse in its rematch, the Raiders rallied within one point, 80-79, following a contested layup by Channing Chappell with 12 just seconds remaining. NKU made two free throws to extend its edge to 82-79 with six seconds left, and Jada Roberson's potential game-tying 3-pointer fell short at the buzzer.
FAMILIAR FOE
Head coach Kari Hoffman, a Wisconsin native, began her coaching career as the director of basketball operations at Green Bay in the 2008-09 and 2009-10 seasons. The Phoenix qualified for the NCAA Tournament both years.
JACKSON STEPPING UP
Destyne Jackson scored a career-high 22 points on 9-of-15 shooting in WSU's 82-79 loss to NKU on January 22. She averages a team-leading 14.3 points per game, good for the eighth-best mark among conference players. The Lexington, Ky., native has scored in double figures in 11 games, including her last four. Last season, Jackson averaged 4.3 points per game with only three double-digit scoring games. She is also shooting 36-percent through 12 games, an increase from her 30% shooting mark during the 2020-21 season.
CAREER MONTH
Edecia Beck has caught fire in January, as the junior forward is averaging 13.3 points, 8.0 rebounds, 1.7 steals, and 1.2 blocks in her last four games. In WSU's 72-56 win at Detroit Mercy (1/15), Beck recorded career-high marks in points (16), rebounds (9), assists (5), and 3-pointers (3), while also adding two steals. She tallied her first collegiate double-double last time out against Northern Kentucky with 16 points, a career-best 11 rebounds, and two blocks.
SCOUTING THE PHOENIX
Green Bay is 8-5 overall and 4-3 against conference opponents. The Phoenix secured victories over Oklahoma State and Wisconsin in non-conference action but have played just two games in January due to four cancellations.
Green Bay's defense has allowed 56.6 points per game, the second-lowest mark in the HL. Hailey Oskey averages a team-leading 11.3 points per game, while Meghan Pingel ranks second in the Horizon League in assists per game (4.1).
INSIDE THE WSU-GB SERIES
The programs met in the opening week of conference action, where Green Bay earned a 78-67 win over WSU. Jackson finished with a team-high 17 points while Chappell added 13 points, four assists, and three rebounds. Roberson and Beck each ended the afternoon with 10 points. Milwaukee sits sixth in the League standings with a 6-4 record. MKE is coming off a weekend split at home, topping Purdue Fort Wayne and losing to Cleveland State. As a team, the Panthers rank third nationally in free throw percentage (80.7%) and third in the HL in assists per game (13.1) and rebound margin (3.8).

The win marked head coach Kari Hoffman's first victory at the helm of the Raiders. WSU raced out to a 33-10 lead after the first quarter and extended its edge to 52-21 by halftime. In the third quarter, the Raiders grew their advantage to 71-33 to put the game entirely out of reach, coasting to a 91-60 finish.
BACK IN A BIG WAY
Despite a three-week absence from play, a trio of Raiders achieved career-high marks in multiple categories against Lake Erie. KK White led the way with a career-best 20 points and 13 rebounds to go along with two steals and one block. Wright posted her first double-double at WSU with 14 points and 15 rebounds – both career-highs. Meanwhile, Roberson finished with career-best marks in points (19) and assists (7). Jackson added a career-high 18 points.
