DAYTON — The Wright State women's basketball program signed high school guard Ellie Magestro-Kennedy on Wednesday, the first day of the national signing period. She will join the Raiders for the 2023-24 season.
"We are really excited to have Ellie join our family," WSU head coach Kari Hoffman said. "She is an electric playmaker whose skill set is a great fit. She is tough, has grit, and will be a great addition to the program."
Magestro-Kennedy, a 5-foot-9 guard from Stoughton, Wisconsin, is a two-time First Team All-Area and All-Conference recipient at Janesville Craig High School. She averaged 18.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.6 steals per game as a junior en route to an honorable-mention selection on the WBCA Division I All-State girls basketball team.
Magestro-Kennedy shot 39.1 percent from the field, 43.2% on 3-point attempts, and 73.1% at the charity stripe during the 2021-22 season, helping Janesville Craig to a 19-8 overall record and a third-place finish in the Big Eight Conference. She also played a valuable role as a sophomore, scoring 12.9 points per game.
The future Raider played club basketball for the Wisconsin Lakers and held Division I offers from Cleveland State, Evansville, IUPUI, North Dakota, Northern Illinois, St. Thomas, and Youngstown State.
