Raiders conclude competition at Cherry Blossom Invitational

The Wright State track and field program placed sixth with 43 points at the Cherry Blossom Invitational on Saturday at Goldsberry Track in Athens, Ohio. In total, the Raiders tallied seven top-five finishes.Â
Bekah Robertson had WSU's top finish of the day in running events, as she collected a runner-up mark in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.91. Melissa Siler was close behind in fifth (17.71).
Cierra Lively and Siler tied for second overall in the high jump with a best clearance of 1.55 meters. Robertson was 12th in the event at 1.45 meters, while Amelia Harlow and Tatiana Brown tied for the 13th (1.45m).Â
Siler garnered her third top-five finish of the meet in the long jump, placing fifth at 5.10 meters. Robertson tied for sixth (5.06m), and Brown took 11th (4.57m).Â
Abigail Halsey's impressive outdoor season continued as she earned fifth out of 17 competitors in the 3,000-meter run at 10:20.12. Emma Johnson was 12th overall (11:09.75), while Nataly Dunes Diaz took 15th (11:28.61).Â
Alicia Neumeier headlined Wright State in the 800-meter run with a fifth-place mark at 2:15.98. Emma Shigley finished 18th (2:28.53) in the event, while Robertson was 20th overall (2:29.81).Â
Shigley led the Raiders in the 1,500-meter run, as she took 11th overall with a time of 4:47.01. Anna Johnson and Brooklyn Salyers finished with times of 5:38.58 and 5:52.41, respectively.Â
In the 400-meter dash, Alycea Ruhlen crossed the finish line at 1:03.81, good for 14th overall. Emma Carr finished 18th in the race at 1:07.74. Ruhlen went on to earn 18th in the 200-meter dash (29.60), followed by Carr in 19th (30.52) and Kira Ball in 21st (32.84).Â
The Raiders concluded the meet with a sixth-place finish in the 4x400 relay, as the quartet of Neumeier, Ruhlen, Johnson, and Shigley raced to a time of 4:22.41.Â
WSU will return to competition at the Otterbein Twilight on April 22 in Westerville, Ohio.Â
