Halsey snatches #HLTF Women’s Runner of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS — Wright State's Abigail Halsey was named Horizon League Women's Runner of the Week, the conference office announced on Tuesday.Â
Halsey led the Raiders at the Oliver Nikoloff Invitational with a second-place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, finishing with a time of 10:59.07. The Tipp City, Ohio native outlasted 14 competitors on her way to tallying eight points for WSU.
On the season, Halsey possesses the Horizon League's top time in the steeplechase (10:59.07) while ranking ninth in the 1,500-meter run (4:49.98). During the 2021-22 indoor campaign, she posted six top-five finishes and ran the seventh-fastest mile (5:03.33) among conference competitors. At the 2022 Horizon League Indoor Championship, Halsey placed fifth in the 3,000-meter run (10:09.69) and 5,000-meter run (17:34.41).Â
Halsey and company will return to competition at the Jim Vargo Invitational from April 8-9 in Louisville, Ky.Â
