
Corder, Haney named to Horizon League All-Academic Team

DAYTON/INDIANAPOLIS – The Horizon League released its 2022 Men's Golf All-Academic Team on Monday, recognizing student-athletes for their success both in competition and in the classroom. Wright State's Cole Corder and Bryce Haney were among the eight student-athletes who were honored in balloting by the League's faculty athletics representatives.

Corder recently received his undergraduate degree in Marketing during Wright State's spring commencement and has appeared on four consecutive Horizon League Academic Honor Rolls dating back to the 2019 Fall listing. His work in the classroom has earned him a spot on the Wright State University Dean's List with honors three times and highest honors three additional semesters leading to his degree in Spring 2022. On the course, his play earned him All-League Second Team honors this spring as he tallied four Top 10 finishes, including winning the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational in the fall and finishing tied for ninth at the Horizon League Championship. Corder's current scoring average of 72.53 ranks is 11th in program history entering the NCAA Regionals.

Haney received his MBA during Wright State's recent spring commencement, adding that to his undergraduate degree in Accountancy. Haney has appeared on nine consecutive Horizon League Academic Honor Rolls dating back to the 2017 Fall listing, while his work in the classroom has earned him a spot on the Wright State University Dean's List in six of his undergraduate semesters leading to his undergraduate degree in Spring 2020, including two semesters with Highest Honors recognition and four semesters with honors. Graduated with his master's degree in Spring 2022. A member of the 2019 and 2021 Horizon League Golf All-Academic Teams and also the 2019 All-Tournament Team, Haney earned Freshman of the Year honors in 2018 and is a 2022 First Team All-Horizon selection. He has seven Top 10 finishes this season, including winning the UD Invitational back in the fall, and finished tied for 15th at the Horizon League Championship. His current scoring average of 72.13 is the eighth-best in program history entering the NCAA Regionals.

Corder and Haney are in the middle of competition with their Raider teammates at the NCAA Columbus Regional this week after helping Wright State capture its seventh Horizon League Championship last month.
