Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Double-digit shots not enough to push Raiders past Ohio State

COLUMBUS, OH – The Wright State men's soccer team tallied its second-most shot attempts to date this season, but the Raiders were unable to find the back of the net as they fell 2-0 at Ohio State Monday night.

Wright State (0-3-1) now returns home to prep for its regular season and Horizon League home opener, a Saturday night 5 p.m. kickoff against IUPUI.

Against Ohio State (3-0-1), the Raiders recorded 11 shots, including two each from Joe Kouadio, Nico Likulia & Presten Manthey. The 11 shots were shy of only the season opener against Stetson, when Wright State totaled 16 attempts.

On the other end of the pitch, Sebastian Jimenez tallied seven saves, with five of the turnaways coming in the first 45 minutes to keep the match within a goal.

Ohio State pushed the offensive pressure to the tune of 20 shots, nine of which were on frame, while 12 of the attempts came in the first half. The hosts found the back of the net in the 20th minute on Parker Grinstead's goal, but the Raiders remained close thanks to six first half shots of their own and Jimenez's work between the pipes. The margin remained at one throughout the majority of the second half until Marko Borkovic scored at the 80:51 mark to bring the night to its final score.
