LOUISVILLE – The Wright State volleyball team fell to No. 2 Louisville in four sets on Thursday night inside the KFC Yum! Center in the opening round of the NCAA Championship. The postseason loss ends Wright State's season at 21-11 with the Raiders' fourth trip to the NCAA Championship in the last five seasons.

Wright State came out firing, taking the opening set 25-22 behind four kills each from Callie Martin and Sam Ott. The Raiders fell 25-18, 25-20 and 25-20 in the next three sets to wrap up the season.

Ott finished with a match-best 18 kills while adding 12 digs for a double-double, while Martin ended her collegiate career with a final double-double of her own, notching 10 kills and 11 digs. Aaliyah Byers added eight kills and the Raiders got five kills from both Megan Alders and Reilly Zegunis.

Katie Meyer passed out 42 of Wright State's 48 assists in her final collegiate match, while Jenny Wessling's 26 digs led all players.

Wright State saw several Raiders earn honors as part of the 2023 Horizon League Volleyball Awards, led by Martin's Player of the Year honor. Fellow fifth-year senior Meyer earned Setter of the Year honors and Travers Green was named the Horizon League Coach of the Year for the second straight season. The good news didn't stop with the major awards, as Wright State recorded three First Team honors, with Alders joining Martin and Meyer, while Wessling and Zegunis each earned Second Team recognition and Zegunis was also named to the All-Freshman Team.
