
Track & Field wraps up Horizon League Indoor Championship

FORT WAYNE, Ind. — The Wright State men's and women's track and field program concluded competition at the Horizon League Indoor Championship on Sunday inside the Lutheran Health Fieldhouse. The women's team placed ninth with 11 points, while the Raider men finished eighth in the standings with seven points.
Cierra Lively tallied five points for the women's team by placing fourth in the high jump with a clearance of 1.65 meters.Â
Alicia Neumeier added a top-10 finish in the mile run, as she ran to 10th place with a time of 5:10.64. Kaitlyn Miller was close behind in 12th place (5:13.64), while Anna Johnson and Alycea Ruhlen took 25th (5:32.51) and 26th (5:33.01) in the event.
Emma Shigley (25th, 10:52.86), Emma Johnson (26th, 10:58.11), A. Johnson (34th, 11:46.76), and Brooklyn Salyers (36th, 12:24.99) represented the Raider women in the 3,000-meter run.Â
The quartet of Mia Wyngarden, Neumeier, Kylee Thomas, and Bekah Robertson concluded the championship meet with an eighth-place finish at 4:05.90 in the women's 4x400-meter relay.Â
Alex McCarty had the top finish of the day for the Raider men, racing to 10th overall in the mile run with a time of 4:22.77. Ethan Neblock (20th, 4:32.59), Nathan Childs (24th, 4:49.33), and Jacob Wellman (5:31.71) followed McCarty in the event.
Neblock paced Wright State in the men's 3,000-meter run, taking 24th overall at 9:12.93. Ryan Cooper was 26th (9:19.43), while Alan Fullenkamp finished 28th (9:27.61) in the race.
Mohamed Bilal, Patrick Statzer, Michael Cole, and John Steimle added two points with a seventh-place finish in the men's 4x400-meter relay.Â
The Raiders will turn their focus to the outdoor season, which begins on March 17 at the Blizzard Buster in Oxford, Ohio.
