DAYTON — The Wright State baseball program clinched its second consecutive series win after defeating Purdue Fort Wayne 9-4 on Sunday afternoon at Nischwitz Stadium. 
Wright State improved to 8-10 on the season and 2-1 in Horizon League play after winning for the fifth time in its last six games. The Mastodons dropped to 4-16 overall and 1-2 against conference opponents with the loss. 
WSU finished with a season-high 14 hits (five for extra bases) in addition to six walks and five stolen bases, scoring in seven different innings. 
Gehrig Anglin enjoyed an all-around day, going 2-for-3 at the plate with a home run, four RBI, three runs scored, a walk, and two stolen bases. 
Andrew Patrick batted 3-for-5 with a triple and three runs, while 
Patrick Fultz doubled twice and added a walk in his collegiate debut. 
Luke Arnold went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI, and a walk. 
Drew Baker and 
Jay Luikart added RBI singles offensively. 
Chris Gallagher (1-0) earned the winning decision after holding the 'Dons scoreless on just one hit and two walks in 3.2 innings out of the bullpen. The sophomore punched out the side in the fifth inning and finished with a career-high seven strikeouts. 
Warren Hartzell kept PFW off the board in 1.1 innings of relief, while 
Ty Roder blanked the visitors in the ninth. 
WSU reached the scoreboard in the opening inning, as Patrick led off the game with a triple to right field and reached home on a sacrifice fly by Anglin. 
Baker connected on an RBI single and came around to score on a double by Arnold to extend the Raider lead to 3-0 in the bottom of the second inning. 
PFW scored once on an RBI groundout in the top of the third inning, but Wright State responded with three runs on four hits in the bottom of the frame to extend its edge to 6-1. Anglin led off the inning with a homer, while Fultz and Arnold recorded consecutive RBI hits in the scoring spurt. 
The Mastodons close their deficit to 6-4 after plating three runs on two hits and three walks in the top of the fourth. In the bottom half of the frame, Anglin walked, stole second, reached third on a passed ball, and touched home on a throwing error to build WSU's advantage to 7-4. 
Anglin's impressive day continued in the bottom of the fifth inning, as he drove in two runs on a two-out single to extend the Raider lead to 9-4.
WSU put up three runs on two hits, two walks, and an error in the bottom of the seventh to build its edge to 12-4. The Raiders plated their final run of the game in the following frame on a groundout by Fultz. 
Wright State will return to action on Tuesday at Ohio State, followed by a Wednesday matchup at Miami (OH).
