Ian Johnson broke a school record in the 1,500-meter run as three Raiders raced at the Raleigh Relays on Thursday evening at the Paul Derr Track & Field facility.
Johnson placed 72nd out of 196 competitors in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 3:49.25. The mark bested the previous record time of 3:51.16 set by Ryan Dunn in 2019.
Pettit and McCarty both broke 15 minutes in the 5,000-meter run, a field consisting of over 200 competitors. Pettit finished 179th overall with a time of 14:55.08, while McCarty was 187th in the race at 14:59.84.
The remainder of the Wright State track and field program will compete in nearby Cedarville, Ohio, at the Yellow Jacket Open on Saturday, March 25.
