Raiders set for busy weekend

DAYTON — The Wright State men's and women's track and field program will split up for two meets over the weekend. A small contingent of runners will compete at the Jesse Owens Classic hosted by Ohio State from April 21-22. The remainder of the team will compete at the Otterbein Twilight Invitational on Friday in Westerville, Ohio.
Jesse Owens Classic - Meet Schedule - Heat Sheets - Live Results
Ohio State will host the two-day meet at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. On Friday, Melissa Siler will kick off competition in the women's javelin at 1 p.m., followed by Alicia Neumeier in the women's 1,500-meter run at 5 p.m. and Ian Johnson in the men's 1500m at 5:30 p.m. The trio of Alex McCarty, Max Pettit, and Jacob Poling will conclude the day in the men's 5,000-meter run at 7:40 p.m. Cierra Lively will represent the Raiders in the women's high jump on Saturday at 1 p.m., while Neumeier and Johnson will take part in the 800-meter run at 3:15 p.m. and 3:40 p.m. Kaitlyn Miller will be Wright State's last representative of the day, competing in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at 4:40 p.m.Â
Otterbein Twilight - Meet Schedule - Live Results
Team's joining WSU include meet host Otterbein, Cedarville, Malone, Ohio Wesleyan, and Wheeling Jesuit. Friday's competition at Otterbein's Memorial Stadium will commence at 1:30 p.m. with the men's hammer throw. Running events will start at 4 p.m. with the women's 100-meter hurdle prelims.Â
LAST TIME OUT
The Raiders combined for two school records and an individual win over two meets last weekend.
>> At the Bison Outdoor Classic, Alex McCarty raced to a record time of 29:56.86 in the men's 10,000-meter run, while Ian Johnson broke his own program record in the men's 1,500-meter run with a blazing time of 3:46.95.
>> Emma Johnson captured first place in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Cherry Blossom Invitational with a personal-record mark of 11:17.44.
>> The Raider women earned three top-10 marks in 100-meter hurdles, led by Bekah Robertson in third (15.32), Kylee Thomas in fourth (15.74), and Callista Hess in 10th (17.52). Thomas also placed fifth in the 400-meter hurdles at 1:08.74, while Hess took fifth overall in the triple jump (10.07m).Â
>> Mia Wyngarden raced to third overall in the 400-meter dash (59.22) and 10th in the 200-meter dash (26.53).Â
>> Cierra Lively took part in two events, placing sixth in the triple jump (9.83m) and eighth in the high jump (1.55m). Tatiana Brown was seventh in the triple (9.79m) and 10th in the high jump (1.50m).
>> Melissa Siler was Wright State's top finisher in the long jump, earning seventh with a clearance of 4.98 meters. Robertson was ninth in the event at 4.89 meters.
>> The Raider men were at their best with three top-10 finishes in the 1,500-meter run. Jacob Poling led the way by taking eighth overall with a time of 4:09.45, followed by Ethan Neblock in ninth (4:10.18) and Tayton Hess in 10th (4:10.79).Â
>> Mohamed Bilal had Wright State's best time in the 400-meter dash, placing eighth in 50.79 seconds.Â
