Raiders set for Golden Grizzly Invite

DAYTON — The Wright State men's and women's track and field program will continue its outdoor season at the Golden Grizzly Invitational hosted by Oakland University on Saturday, April 8.Â
Field will begin at 10:30 a.m. with the women's hammer throw, while running event are set to commence at 11:30 a.m. with the 4x100 meter relays.

LAST TIME OUT
Wright State last competed two weekends ago at the Yellow Jacket Open, posting eight top-five finishes, including four runner-up marks and one individual win. The women's team finished sixth out of 23 programs with 56 points, while the Raider men took 24th overall with four points.Â
>> The Raider women were at their best with the top-three spots in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Emma Johnson placed first at 11:51.03 and was followed by Kaitlyn Miller in second (12:02.55) and Anna Johnson in third (12:50.77).Â
>> Mia Wyngarden raced to second out of 40 runners in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:00.67. Emma Shigley raced to a runner-up time of 39:23.34 in the 10,000-meter run.Â
>> Cierra Lively had WSU's top finish in field events, placing second in the high jump with a clearance of 1.63 meters. Bekah Robertson (7th, 1.48m) and Tatiana Brown (10th, 1.43m) also earned top-10 marks in the event.Â
>> Wright State had four individuals race in the 100-meter hurdles, led by Robertson in fifth (15.61) and Kylee Thomas in eighth (16.14).Â
>> Alicia Neumeier broke five minutes in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:59.05, good for eighth overall.Â
>> Tayton Hess headlined the men's team with a fifth-place finish in the 3K steeplechase (10:13.01).Â
>> Patrick Statzer had a strong showing in the 1,500-meter run, as he took 11th out of 96 competitors with a time of 4:19.26. He added a 21st-place mark in the 800-meter run (2:05.90).Â
>> Mohamed Bilal was 12th overall in the 400-meter dash, crossing the finish line at 52.47. Jacob Poling paced the Raiders in the 5,000-meter run, earning 19th with a time of 16:08.82.Â
