YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio —
Ian Johnson won the men's 1,500-meter run and added a runner-up mark in the men's 800-meter run on the final day of competition at the Horizon League Outdoor Championship. The men's team placed seventh out of eight teams with 24 points, while the women's team took ninth with 23 points.
Johnson raced to a winning time of 4:02.26 in the 1500m run, just ahead of YSU's Tyler Clark in second (4:02.42). He collected runner-up honors with a mark of 1:56.56 in the 800m run, less than a second behind Oakland's William Harrell III in first (1:54.36).
Cierra Lively led the Raiders in field events with a fifth-place finish (1.60m) in the women's high jump.
Kaitlyn Miller earned a spot on the podium for the second time of the weekend, as she took sixth out of 34 competitors in the women's 5,000-meter run with a time of 17:36.27.
Alicia Neumeier placed eighth in the women's 800-meter run finals with a time of 2:25.34.
Mohamed Bilal was eighth in the 400-meter hurdles in 59.72 seconds.
The Raiders concluded the meet with a pair of eighth-place finishes in the 4x400-meter relays. Bilal,
Patrick Statzer, Johnson, and
Michael Cole raced to a time of 3:29.66, while the quartet of
Mia Wyngarden,
Kylee Thomas,
Bekah Robertson, and
Melissa Siler finished in 4:03.43.
