STROTHERS, OH – The Wright State bowling team rolled three best-of-seven baker matches to finish the Penguin Classic on Sunday, dropping its opening match of the day before bouncing back with two straight wins to finish the tournament with a seventh-place finish.
The Raiders dropped their first best-of-seven baker match to No. 21 McKendree, a team they beat in Saturday's traditional game action, in five games to begin the day before responding with a quick victory over Niagara in four games. Wright State closed the tournament with a tough, seven game win over No. 19 Valparaiso, grabbing wins in three of the final four games, to end the tournament on a high note and grab the seventh-place spot.
Wright State finished with a total pinfall of 23,206 and a game average of 184.9 for the weekend of action, led by Addy Meshew and her 200.40 average, followed by
Mia Sayles (188.40),
Jasmine Schulze (197.75),
Jada Baker (181.00) and Alli Shattuck (176.00).
Next up for the Raiders will be tournament action at Destination Orlando in Orlando, Florida next weekend. Tournament action will take place at AMF Sky Lanes and is being hosted by Sacred Heart.
