Bowling grabs two wins on opening day in Orlando

ORLANDO – The Wright State bowling team opened play at Destination Orlando on Friday, going 3-2 in the first day of action to sit in 15th in the 24-team field.

Saturday's action will feature five traditional matches, with the final matches on Sunday featuring one Baker pinfall match, followed by two best-of-seven Baker matches.
 
Teams bowled five head-to-head Baker matches on Friday, with the Raiders dropping their first two matches, falling to No. 2 Arkansas State (1,116-883) and No. 6 North Carolina A&T (961-956) before bouncing back with three straight wins. Wright State closed the afternoon with victories over Florida A&M (840-652), Daemen (942-818) and Alabama State (994-923).

The Raiders finished with a 4,615 total pinfall on Friday with a 184.6 average game score.
 
Saturday's traditional matches will see Wright State square off against (RV) Monmouth, No. 4 Vanderbilt, No. 13 Tulane, No. 18 Sacred Heart and Emmanuel.
