Raiders tally pair of Top 10 finishes to close fall action

DAYTON – The Wright State golf team wrapped up its fall schedule on Tuesday afternoon at the Flyer Invitational at NCR, with a pair of Raiders finishing inside the Top 10 as Wright State finished sixth as a group.

On the team leaderboard, the Raiders finished 30-over on the way to the sixth-place finish in the 12-team field, opening with a 12-over 296 team card before back-to-back nine-over 293 in rounds two and three.

Individually, Adam Horn finished tied for third and one-under playing as an individual. Horn opened with an even par first round 71 before a one-over 72 and finished his action with a two-under 69, carding 11 total birdies over his 54 holes of action. Timmy Hollenbeck was also inside the Top 10, finishing at three-over in a tie for eighth individually, opening with an even part 71 of his own before following that up with a one-under 70 in round two and a four-over final round 75, collecting nine birdies over his three rounds.

Shane Ochs was tied for 21st at eight-over for the tournament, opening with a seven-over 78 before bouncing back with an even par 71 and a one-over 72 in his final round, tallying nine birdies over the three rounds and an eagle on the par five 10th hole during his second round. Andrew Flynn (t-33rd) was 11-over overall, opening with a four-over 75 and carding a seven-over second round 78 before closing with an even par final round 71, notching seven total birdies, while Ian Asch (t-36th) was a shot behind him at 12-over after carding a one-over 71, a seven-over 78 and a final round four-over 75. Kye Fisher (t-50th) wrapped up the Raider lineup at 15-over, starting action with an eight-over 79 before bouncing back with a three-over 74 and a final round four-over 75.

Wright State now awaits the spring championship portion of its schedule, set to begin in mid-February and culminating with the Horizon League Championship in April with a shot at an NCAA Tournament bid on the line.
