Raiders set for Wild Bill Invite on home course

DAYTON — The Wright State cross country teams will host the Wild Bill Invite for its last regular season meet on Friday at Fairborn Community Park.Â
The men's 8,000-meter run will kick off the meet at 4:30pm., while the women's 6K race will follow at 5:15p.m. Spectators will have a $5 car fee.Â
Both courses are relatively flat and fast with all grass footing. Click here to view the 6K course, which features three 2K loops. Click here to view the 8K course, which features four 2K loops.Â
The men's team is coming off strong showing at last weekend's Bradley Pink Classic in Peoria, IL. In the white race, the Raiders were paced by Michael Gale's time of 26:23.52 as he finished in 50th place, followed closely by Reece Page in 57th with a 26:35.55 mark. Jacob Craig (60th) was stride-for-stride with Page, grabbing a 26:42.09 time of his own, with Matthew Lee (72nd, 27:00.51) and Bryce Page (109th, 28:08.64) rounded out the five Raider roundup.
The women's team also competed last week at the Falcon Invitational in Bowling Green, Ohio. The Wright State women finished 11th in their 6K race. In the women's race, the Raiders were paced by Emma Johnson's time of 22:35.7 to finish in 31st place. Reece Barnitz finished 66th with a 23:51.3 mark, followed closely by Anna Johnson (81st) with a 24:09.2 time of her own. Ella Lambert (82nd, 24:13.3) and Kaitlin Thomas (84th, 24:18.0) rounded out the five Raider roundup.
After the Wild Bill Invite, Wright State will travel to Green Bay, WI to race in the Horizon League Cross Country Championship on November 2 at Phoenix Alumni XC Course at Shorewood.Â
