YOUNGSTOWN – The Wright State women's soccer team fell to Youngstown 1-0 on Saturday. The Raiders are now 1-2-1 in the Horizon League. They will continue conference play on Thursday, October 8 in a 7 p.m. match at Detroit Mercy. Fans can keep up with the action through ESPN+ livestreaming and live stats.
Wright State (3-7-1, 1-2-1 HL) ended the day outshooting Youngstown (4-7-2, 2-3-0 HL) 14-10, landing six shots on target to the Penguin's four. The Raiders had ten corner kicks while allowing no corner kicks by YSU. The 'Guins bested WSU in saves 6-3.
Junior forward
Kaylee Pham led the team with three shots, a career high. She was followed by
Elise Canter and
Olivia Stroud, each adding two shots with one on goal.

Mace, Pham, and Sarka all logged a full 90 minutes of play. E. Canter and
Allison Charleston followed with 82 and 81 minutes each, respectively.
The Raiders put up ten shots in the first, allowing only three by YSU. Burger had the first shot of the day, missing to the right in the fourth minute. Stroud added a shot soon after in the sixth minute, hitting the woodwork. E. Canter followed with a shot in the bottom center in the seventh minute. Staying persistent, Pham added her first shot on the day in the ninth minute. Youngstown scored the only goal of the day as Sara Felder found the back of the net in the 14th minute.
Olivia Mace added another shot for the Raiders, missing to the right in the 19th minute. A. Charleston put the final shot on goal of the half in the 27th minute, putting it in the bottom center as the 'Guin's keeper to recorded a save. The first half slowed, as E. Canter, Chinn, Eyink, and Pham added shots in the final ten minutes. Chinn's shot was on target, placing it in the bottom right.
Wright State had only four shots in the second half, as Pham first added an attempt in the 56th minute. The game slowed, as the Raiders did not have another shot until Hartmann's in the 80th minute. Stroud placed a shot in the top left in the 88th minute, with the last shot of the day coming from Sarka in the 90th minute. The graduate keeper placed her shot on goal while attempting to put the ball in the box from the half.
