DAYTON – The Wright State men's soccer team fell to Akron 6-1 on Tuesday evening. The lone Raider goal came from freshman forward
Brayden Tester in the 61st minute. The Raiders will stay on the road, traveling to Robert Morris for a 12 p.m. Horizon League matchup.
Wright State (5-5-2, 2-1-1) ended the night with seven shots, six on target, to the Zips' 15 shots, 10 on target. Leading the Raiders was
Cole Werthmuller with two shots, one shot on goal.

Conner Osterholt, and Tester each had one shot on goal. Goalkeeper
Alex Normandeau logged the full 90 minutes, recording four saves. Alongside Normandeau in the complete game were
Nate Erre,
Jack Jenkins, and
Samuel Rudjord.
The Raiders had two shots in the first half, first by Ezekwuka in the 21st minute, as he put a shot on goal in the lower right. Burkett followed with a shot in the 33rd minute, putting it in the lower left. Akron gained an early advantage, scoring on a penalty kick in the 13th minute. But the Wright State defense stayed strong as the Zips put up seven shots, four on goal, but were up just 1-0 at the half.
Normandeau recorded three saves in the first 45 minutes, the first just 90 seconds into the match. His second save came in the 27th minute, as a Zip put a shot in high right, with the final save of the half coming in the 37th minute.
Tester's goal came in the 60th minute, as a WSU corner kick was bounced in and out of the box. Rudjord gained control of the ball, passing to
Brock Pickett who passed to Ezekwuka. Ezekwuka gave it to Burkett who skillfully placed it in the center of the box for Tester to shoot past a group of Zips, tying the score at one.
WSU added five shots in the second half, putting four on goal. Osterholt opened with a shot in the lower right in the 49th minute. Werthmuller followed with shots in the 60th and 67th minutes. Fuentes added the final shot of the evening in the final 30 seconds, putting it in the lower right.
Akron followed Tester's game tying goal with one of their own less than 30 seconds later. They raised their advantage further in the 71st and 72nd minutes, and again in the 80th. The Zips scored their final goal with less than a minute on the clock, ending the night 6-1.
